Zurich and the Zurich Opera House have a long-standing partnership with a shared interest in making the genre of opera accessible to a wide audience. Made possible by Zurich, the season highlight "opera for all" on Sechseläutenplatz and the children's operas on the stage of the Opera House have become an integral part of the program.

Kino für alle – July 11, 2025

Together with the Zurich Opera House, Zurich presents «kino für alle» for the second time, transforming Sechseläutenplatz into an open-air cinema once again. On the evening before «oper für alle», two music-themed movies will be shown on Sechseläutenplatz on a big screen with free admission. Start 6.00 p.m.

Oper für alle – July 12, 2025

Every year, an opera or ballet performance from the Opera House is broadcast live on the big screen on Sechseläutenplatz. This event is an integral part of Zurich's cultural agenda and delights a diverse audience of over 12,000 people each time. On Saturday, July 12, 2025, it's «oper für alle» again. The opera house is presenting Jacques Offenbach's fantastic opera «Les Contes d'Hoffmann» on the last weekend of the 24/25 season. The opening act starts at 6 p.m., admission is free – we look forward to seeing you!

Children's opera

We are also committed to the youngest culture fans and have been an exclusive sponsor of the children's opera since 2014. The elaborate productions guarantee a unique stage experience for the whole family. In the 2024/2025 season, Around the World in 80 Days is on the program. The premiere will take place on November 17, 2024.
