Do you have questions?

What is the difference between the MyWay and the classic car insurance?

Both the classical Car Insurance and MyWay offer the same insurance cover, which the customer can select as required. However, there are some differences:

  • Type of billing: with Classic car insurance, the premium is set and billed once a year. MyWay, on the other hand, charges a monthly basic fee and the kilometres driven. As a rule, MyWay is worthwhile if you drive less than 7,000 kilometres per year. With the help of our premium calculator, you can easily calculate the costs.
  • More flexible organisation: Traditional car insurance has a cancellation period of 3 months before the end of the contract. With MyWay, insurance cover can be adjusted at any time and the policy can be cancelled with 14 days' notice.

  • Self-service: All Zurich customers have access to their existing policies via their user login. However, MyWay is app-based. Customers can use the app not only to view their personal data, policies, their kilometres driven and invoices, but also adjust their insurance cover and personal information themselves at any time. They can also view their kilometres driven and invoices. You can find more information about the app and its functions here.

How does the mileage recording work?

Once the app has been installed and linked to the adapter, it is connected to the car. From this point on, the adapter measures every kilometre driven and transmits this information to Zurich. The mileage can be viewed in the app at any time.

What data is recorded?

We attach great importance to data protection. In addition to the basic data provided (policyholder and vehicle details, adapter status), Zurich only receives the kilometres driven, the connection status of the adapter and whether Zurich Services is activated in the app. This enables us to create an individual kilometre-based invoice. Data on your other driving behaviour, routes driven or other vehicle use will not be transmitted.
