Every year, 26,000 people in Switzerland suffer a brain injury. It can affect anyone. The most common causes are stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, traumatic injury and tumors.
A brain injury changes the lives of those affected and their relatives: And the road to recovery is long and arduous. FRAGILE Suisse is specialized in helping people with brain injuries in everyday life.
It is not uncommon for the affected people to have limitations and disabilities in their daily lives: For example, victims may lose the ability to walk or speak properly, or may be paralyzed on one side. And disability may manifest itself in many other less noticeable ways. Not only their behavior, but also abstract thinking and the personality can change, and they are often impaired by the brain injury.
Zurich Switzerland supports the commitment of FRAGILE Suisse: For every new life insurance policy taken out, Zurich makes a financial contribution to the patient organization.
What's more, Zurich wants to raise awareness for the issue. As part of the cooperation with FRAGILE Suisse, Zurich is offering internal training seminars for its customer consultants, administrators and care managers to help them deal people with brain injuries. The goal is to ensure customers continue to receive the professional advice and support they require after suffering a brain injury.
Sandro Meyer, Head of Life, Zurich Switzerland, commented: "We not only want to protect our customers against the financial impact with disability insurance, but also offer them the best possible assistance in the event of a brain injury. And FRAGILE Suisse guarantees this. And that's why we support this patient organization."
